TAG.Global Participates in Alexandria International Book Fair's 15th Edition


ALEXANDRIA- In the framework of cooperation with the well-established Bibliotheca Alexandrina and in order to strengthen relations, Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Global (TAG.Global) (Egypt Office) participated for the first time in the 2019 Alexandria International Book Fair in its 15th edition which took place from March 25 to April 8, 2019. 

TAG.Global participated with a pavilion that included its latest specialized publications in many fields, in addition to many books and writings by His Excellency Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, the Founder and  Chairman of  Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Global (TAG.Global).

Moreover, TAG.Global contributed to the cultural forum which was held on the sidelines of the Fair by delivering two awareness‐raising lectures to visitors of the Fair.

The first lecture was entitled “Protection of Intellectual Property Rights, Copyrights and Patents”, in which Dr. Ahmad Donia, Abu-Ghazaleh Intellectual Property (AGIP) Consultant/Egypt Office, discussed different types of intellectual property, international regulations and conventions for the protection and registration of different intellectual property types, the material value of trademarks and patents as intangible assets separate from tangible assets, in addition to how developing countries could benefit from the international patent protection systems, and the importance of effective protection of intellectual property rights in attracting foreign direct investments.

In the second lecture,  which was also held by TAG.Global under the title “Information Security and Internet Risks; Threats and Protection Measures", Mr. Ahmed Fathy, IT Manager at TAG.Global (Egypt office), highlighted the importance of the internet and its role in our life, the concept of information security and information security challenges, the most critical risks and threats, their classification and protection measures. Additionally, Mr. Fathy discussed means of identification, authentication and authorization, and protection measures for devices and networks. In addition, Mr. Fathy gave some general tips on using systems, programs, browsers and networks.

It is worth mentioning that more than 50 of the largest Egyptian and Arab publishing houses participated in the book fair this year, which indicates the keenness of the publishing houses to be represented in Bibliotheca Alexandrina, which is a beacon of culture and science, and a destination for readers and intellectuals in various fields.
